Position Title: Plant HR Manager

Position Overview:
The Plant HR Manager will be the single point of ownership for all Human Resource activities at the Mankhal manufacturing facility and will report directly to the Plant Head. This role demands a highly hands-on HR professional who can effectively balance strategic planning with operational execution. The successful candidate will be expected to partner closely with plant leadership to build a productive, compliant, disciplined, and engaged workforce while ensuring uninterrupted manpower availability to support business and production objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Strategy, Policies and Plant HR Operations
- Partner closely with the Plant Head to drive the overall people strategy aligned with plant and business objectives.
- Develop, implement, communicate, and administer HR policies, processes, and standard operating procedures across the plant.
- Ensure consistent implementation of HR practices while promoting discipline, transparency, and operational excellence.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across HR processes to enhance employee experience and organisational effectiveness.
Contract Labour Management and Workforce Planning
- Own the end-to-end contract labour strategy to ensure uninterrupted manpower availability in line with production plans and operational requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with labour contractors, evaluate contractor performance, and proactively manage manpower risks.
- Forecast blue-collar manpower requirements in coordination with production and operations teams and ensure timely workforce deployment.
- Monitor contractor compliance, attendance, productivity, and workforce utilisation to maintain smooth plant operations.
Talent Acquisition and Manpower Planning
- Drive annual and periodic manpower planning for white-collar positions in collaboration with functional leaders.
- Ensure accurate role definitions and maintain updated job descriptions across plant functions.
- Coordinate with external recruitment partners to ensure timely closure of approved positions while maintaining quality of hires.
Payroll Administration and Statutory Compliance
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for plant employees by coordinating with internal stakeholders and relevant service providers.
- Lead compliance with all applicable labour laws, statutory requirements, audits, and documentation related to manufacturing operations.
- Maintain complete and accurate statutory records while ensuring timely submission of returns and regulatory filings.
Employee Relations and Industrial Relations
- Foster a positive and productive work environment by building strong relationships with both blue-collar and white-collar employees.
- Address employee grievances, resolve workplace issues promptly, and support effective conflict resolution across the plant.
- Drive employee engagement, retention initiatives, communication forums, and welfare activities to strengthen organisational culture.
- Ensure consistent enforcement of company policies, disciplinary procedures, and workplace standards while maintaining fairness and transparency.
Performance Management and Learning & Development
- Drive the end-to-end performance management process, including goal setting, performance reviews, calibration discussions, and appraisal finalisation.
- Partner with functional heads to identify capability gaps and build structured learning and development initiatives.
- Coordinate technical, behavioural, compliance, and leadership development programmes to enhance workforce capability.
- Support succession planning and talent development initiatives to build a strong leadership pipeline within the plant.
Requirements:
- MBA/MSW in Human Resources, Personnel Management, Industrial Relations, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience as a Plant HR Manager or HR Business Partner within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong exposure to contract labour management, industrial relations, and workforce planning in labour-intensive operations.
- Thorough knowledge of payroll administration and statutory labour compliance applicable to manufacturing organisations.
- Demonstrated experience in employee relations, grievance handling, disciplinary processes, and policy administration.
- Experience managing end-to-end performance management and employee development initiatives.
- Ability to partner effectively with plant leadership while remaining hands-on in day-to-day HR operations.
- Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of ownership, execution capability, and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in HRMS systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Pay: ₹1,400,000.00 - ₹1,700,000.00 per year
