Azets Ireland is expanding its presence in India, building a dedicated team to support its operations, complementing the existing team members across audit and other functions.
Role Overview
This position plays a key role in supporting Azets Ireland's client accounting services. The accountant will be responsible for preparing and reviewing complex management accounts, ensuring compliance with VAT regulations, contributing to digital transformation initiatives, and fostering strong client relationships. This role is crucial for delivering high-quality financial services, supporting revenue targets, and mentoring junior team members within our growing team in Hyderabad, India.
Key Responsibilities will include:

Prepare detailed Management Accounts for a diverse portfolio of clients, working from trial balance to final reports

Prepare and review accounting and bookkeeping tasks, ensuring that all work of junior team members is accurate and high-quality

Prepare and review VAT (Value Added Tax) and other compliance returns (e.g., VIES, RTD, Intrastat)

Identify opportunities to streamline client accounting processes, promoting the use of digital tools and automation

Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accountants, supporting their professional growth

Communicate directly with managers and clients (via email and calls) to manage expectations, resolve queries, and build strong relationships

Ensure all accounting tasks are completed efficiently, accurately, and within agreed timelines and budgets.
Skills, attributes and competencies required:

A bachelor’s degree in commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field

Minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience in Irish/ EMEA accounting role

A good understanding of Ireland/UK GAAP is beneficial due to its transferability, and knowledge of IFRS is also valued

Irish/UK/European VAT experience is beneficial

Hands-on experience with accounting software such as Xero, Dext. (Training and certification will be provided if needed)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work independently, analyse financial data, and proactively suggest improvements

Experience in reviewing work of junior team members is a significant advantage
