Position Summary
The Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet, seeks a compassionate, qualified, and proactive Clinical Psychologist & Counsellor to support the emotional, social, behavioural, and psychological well-being of students. The role involves providing individual and group counselling, conducting assessments, implementing preventive mental health programs, crisis intervention, and collaborating closely with parents, teachers, and school leadership to foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. School-based counsellors are increasingly expected to support students' social-emotional development, mental wellness, and academic success.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counselling for students experiencing emotional, behavioural, social, or academic challenges.
- Conduct psychological assessments, behavioural screenings, and maintain appropriate case documentation.
- Develop intervention plans and provide ongoing support to students requiring psychological assistance.
- Offer crisis intervention and support in cases involving trauma, grief, bullying, self-harm concerns, or emotional distress.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school administrators to address student well-being and learning needs.
- Design and facilitate workshops on mental health, emotional resilience, life skills, stress management, and positive relationships.
- Identify students requiring specialized support and coordinate referrals to external mental health professionals when necessary.
- Promote a positive school climate through preventive and wellness-focused initiatives.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical and professional standards of psychological practice.
- Support safeguarding and child protection initiatives in accordance with school policies.
Qualifications & Experience
- Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology, or Applied Psychology.
- M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology and RCI registration preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in counselling children and adolescents, preferably in a school setting.
- Strong understanding of child and adolescent development, mental health concerns, and evidence-based counselling practices.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, faculty, and external professionals
Pay: ₹14,376.95 - ₹50,975.52 per month
