Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the GM in developing business strategies, preparing action plans, and ensuring their implementation in discussion with Top Management
- Build and review finance models for business projects; advise on the best available financial strategies for proposed initiatives
- Participate in discussions with Management on future business plans; contribute to financial strategy development and follow through on execution
- Lead the preparation of yearly budgets with inputs from all departments; support finalisation with Top Management
- Conduct monthly budget reviews, analyse variances against actuals, and recommend corrective courses of action
- Monitor operating cash flow efficiency and proactively flag risks or funding gaps to the Finance Manager
- Manage the organisation's taxation affairs, review tax provisions, optimise tax compliance, and identify opportunities to manage tax liability
- Ensure all taxation declarations - Income Tax, TDS, TCS, GST are accurate, filed on time, and compliant with the latest regulatory norms
- Advise on tax implications of proposed transactions including asset disposals and other significant business decisions
- Review new tax legislation affecting the organisation and assist in responding to tax audits and statutory notices
- Liaise with legal and professional consultants on pending litigation, statutory notices, and regulatory follow-ups
- Ensure 100% statutory compliance across all areas of the organisation
- Prepare and present monthly MIS reports on profitability with detailed analysis and recommended management actions
- Monitor and control spending against approved budgets; allocate costs correctly and highlight variances with justifications
- Maintain and track gold and diamond buying rates, bank interest rates, and loan management data as inputs to profitability reporting
- Evaluate financial trends across product lines and locations; recommend realignment of financial strategy where required
- Provide pricing strategy inputs and support incentive framework monitoring in coordination with operations
- Monitor all books of accounts and oversee bank and cash transaction controls across branches
- Develop and implement Financial & Accounting SOPs using established frameworks; ensure team adherence to all processes
- Conduct internal financial audits to ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and corporate governance standards
- Examine accounting records to detect non-compliance; recommend and implement improvements to financial procedures
- Finalise the scope of in-house internal audit and external internal auditor engagements
- Ensure audits are conducted as per schedule, reports are submitted on time, and follow-up actions are closed
- Provide full support to external auditors during statutory audits
- Support the General Manager by providing timely financial insights, analysis, and decision-support data for expanding operations
- Manage and mentor the junior finance team review their work, support their development, and ensure consistent output quality
Qualifications & Experience
- CA qualification is mandatory
- 8 years of post-qualification experience in Finance & Accounts
- Minimum 2 years in retail or multi-location businesses; jewellery or high-value retail experience preferred
- Demonstrated experience in budgeting, MIS reporting, audit management, and statutory compliance
- Proven ability to manage teams and work directly with senior leadership
