Your new role – challenging and future-oriented
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional for our Quality Control position in Gas & Service Business Unit in India. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong expertise in quality control, uphold the highest standards of product, service, and process quality, and exhibit a proactive approach to excellence. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and enhance overall value in order execution.
This position reports directly to the Quality Assurance Manager of GS Service Business unit of Siemens Energy India Limited and is based in Bengaluru. Karnataka.
Your new role – challenging and future-oriented

Comprehensive knowledge of traditional and CNC machining processes for steam turbine casings, rotor shafts, valves components used in steam/gas turbine with the ability to support suppliers in ensuring the desired machining quality.

Review Manufacturing Quality Assurance Plans (QAPs) in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and drawings; perform inspections, prepare detailed inspection reports, and coordinate with engineering teams and suppliers to effectively resolve non-conformances.

Hands-on experience in the inspection of critical machined parts at our Bangalore factory as well as at supplier works, including on-machine and off-machine dimensional checks, run-out checks, blue matching inspection, CMM checks, NDT checks, and final inspection

Hands-on experience in UT, MPI, and DPT testing for inspection witnessing of steam turbine machined components at supplier premises, including in-process and final NDT inspection of critical machined components.

Must have knowledge of AutoCAD for designing inspection templates for machined components.

Exposure to digital scanning tools, including CMM and FARO Arm, for the inspection of turbine stationary and rotating blades.

Possess familiarity with turbine repair methods and assembly processes for major components (added advantage).

Ensure planning, coordination, and inspection are carried out as per the customer’s Quality Inspection Plan and create and maintain the quality dossier accordingly.

Ensure compliance with industry regulations such as ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001, as well as customer specifications and applicable quality standards.

Preference will be given to candidates who are currently involved in the inspection of critical machined components and fabricated parts, including Steam turbine rotors, turbine casings, valve casings, turbine blades, steam glands, bearings, control valve parts, fabricated inner casings, and bearing pedestals.

Bachelor’s degree/ diploma in Mechanical engineering or a related technical field.

6-10 years of experience in Quality control, preferably in Oil and Gas & power sector domain. The candidate must be Certified ASNT NDT Level II in UT, MPI and DPT.

Ability to interface directly with suppliers, purchasing, engineering and workshop teams.

Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Ability to make quick, informed decisions on a regular basis

Ability to manage multiple manufacturing issues / projects and meet deadlines.

Willingness to travel frequently for inspections at supplier facilities.
