Garment Merchandiser (Sampling & Production)
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Garment Merchandiser to bridge the gap between design and final production. In this role, you will oversee the entire product lifecycle—from initial pattern development and sample approvals to fabric management and final dispatch. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical understanding of garment construction, excellent vendor management skills, and a commitment to meeting strict deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Sampling & Pattern Development: Coordinate the development of patterns for new samples, pre-production (PP) samples, and size sets, ensuring precise fit and design accuracy.
- Fabric & Material Planning: Calculate fabric consumption and manage fabric requirements to minimize waste and ensure timely availability.
- Production Coordination: Create and oversee the fabric cutting program to streamline factory floor efficiency.
- Vendor & Jobwork Management: Source, evaluate, and finalize reliable jobwork units (stitching, printing, embroidery, etc.) based on capacity and quality standards.
- Quality & Dispatch: Conduct thorough pre-shipment inspections and manage logistics to guarantee 100% on-time dispatch.
Qualifications
- Degree/Diploma in Fashion Designing, Garment Manufacturing Technology, or Apparel Merchandising.
- 3-4 years of experience in garment merchandising (sampling and production tracking).
- Strong understanding of garment patterns, fabric consumption, and cutting room processes.
- Proven ability to manage external jobwork units and meet tight delivery schedules.
