We are seeking a motivated and technically sound Master Data SME to join our Global Engineering team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in establishment, execution, and continuous improvement of data governance practices across Engineering data domains, with a primary focus on Master Data and Engineering Libraries. This role will ensure data integrity, consistency, security, and lifecycle management of critical data assets such as Material Master, BOM, Routing, and related engineering data.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable accurate, governed, and trusted data that supports operational excellence, reporting, digital transformation, and advanced analytics or AI-driven initiatives.
Our Team
We are the Centralized Master Data Team supporting global business units across Molex. Our team plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity, accessibility, and governance of enterprise master data, enabling efficient product development, compliance, and scalable business operations.
What You Will Do
- Define and implement data governance frameworks, standards, and policies across Master Data and Engineering domains
- Standardize processes for data creation, enrichment, validation, change management, and retirement
- Govern key domains such as Material Master, BOM, Routing, and Engineering Libraries ensuring consistency across systems
- Establish and maintain data ownership, stewardship models, and governance operating structures
- Ensure alignment and data consistency between engineering systems (PLM/CAD) and enterprise systems (SAP)
- Define, track, and improve data quality metrics, scorecards, and thresholds
- Build and maintain data lineage, metadata, and business glossary for improved transparency and traceability
- Implement and monitor data classification standards, including sensitive data (e.g., PII) in line with compliance requirements
- Enable analytics, automation, and digital initiatives through governed and trusted data
- Drive governance adoption through stakeholder engagement, training, and collaboration forums
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in data governance, master data management, or data management practices
- Exposure to data catalog, metadata management, lineage, classification, and governance tools
- Experience working with enterprise platforms such as SAP ERP, PLM, or CAD systems
- Understanding of data lifecycle management, stewardship models, and governance controls
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including Business, Engineering, IT, and Governance stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured approach to issue resolution
- Experience supporting digital transformation, automation, or analytics/AI-related initiatives
- Certification such as CDMP or equivalent data governance qualification
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience with Master Data Management tools such as SAP MDG, EBX, Alation, Mendix, or similar platforms
- Exposure to PLM or engineering data systems and integrations with enterprise applications
- Hands-on experience with SQL, Power BI, Snowflake, or similar tools
- Knowledge of data analysis, querying techniques, and reporting tools
- Understanding of engineering or product lifecycle data domains
- Ability to quickly learn new tools, technologies, and evolving data practices
