Key ResponsibilitiesDiagnostic & Reporting
- Examine, analyze, and report Hematology, Clinical Pathology, and Biochemistry samples as applicable
Laboratory Operations & Management
- Oversee day-to-day laboratory operations, ensuring smooth workflow and turnaround time (TAT)
- Supervise sample collection, processing, storage, and disposal as per SOPs
- Monitor instrument functioning, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Ensure adequate availability of reagents, consumables, and inventory control
- Coordinate with vendors for equipment servicing and reagent supply
- Ensure effective implementation of LIS/HIS and accuracy of data entry
Quality & Compliance
- Implement and monitor Internal Quality Control (IQC) and External Quality Assurance (EQAS)
- Ensure compliance with NABL / ISO / regulatory requirements
- Prepare, review, and update SOPs, quality manuals, and records
- Participate in internal audits, external audits, and accreditation inspections
Team Leadership & Training
- Supervise, train, and evaluate laboratory technologists and support staff
- Ensure staff competency assessments and adherence to protocols
- Plan duty rosters and manage manpower effectively
Safety & Administration
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety, infection control, and biomedical waste management
- Maintain proper documentation and statutory records
- Participate in departmental meetings, quality improvement programs, and hospital committees
- Provide consultation to clinicians on test selection and interpretation
