Job Summary
The Management Trainee – Trading Operations will be responsible for coordinating trading activities, monitoring import/export shipments, liaising with port authorities, shipping agents, customs brokers, transporters, and ensuring smooth execution of cargo movements. The candidate will be required to visit seaports regularly and support commercial and logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate import and export shipment activities.
- Visit seaports, warehouses, and logistics hubs to monitor cargo handling and vessel operations.
- Liaise with shipping lines, clearing & forwarding agents, customs authorities, surveyors, and transporters.
- Track vessel schedules, cargo arrivals, dispatches, and shipment status.
- Ensure timely documentation related to imports, exports, and trading transactions.
- Monitor inventory movement and coordinate with procurement, production, and logistics teams.
- Assist in contract execution, shipment planning, and trade documentation.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly trading and logistics reports.
- Resolve operational issues related to cargo movement, transportation, and port clearances.
- Support management in market intelligence gathering and business development activities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and statutory regulations.
Required Qualifications
- MBA (Marketing/International Business/Operations), BBA, B.Com, B.Sc, or any relevant degree.
- 2–4 years of experience in Trading, Logistics, Supply Chain, Import-Export Operations, or Port Operations.
- Knowledge of shipping documentation, customs procedures, and cargo handling operations is preferred.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and reporting tools.
- Willingness to travel extensively and visit seaports across India.
