Job Summary
Dr. Humayun Speciality Hospital is looking for an experienced and compassionate Senior Staff Nurse – PICU to provide specialized nursing care to critically ill infants and children. The ideal candidate should possess strong clinical knowledge, excellent patient care skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced critical care environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients admitted to the PICU.
- Continuously monitor patients' vital signs and promptly identify any changes in their condition.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
- Operate and monitor critical care equipment such as ventilators, infusion pumps, monitors, and syringe pumps.
- Assist doctors during emergency procedures, intubation, central line insertion, and other critical interventions.
- Maintain accurate nursing documentation and patient records.
- Follow infection prevention and patient safety protocols at all times.
- Educate and support patients' families regarding treatment plans and home care instructions.
- Coordinate with doctors and the multidisciplinary team to ensure quality patient care.
- Mentor junior nurses and assist in maintaining PICU standards and protocols.
- Participate in emergency response, code blue situations, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- B.Sc. Nursing or GNM with a valid Nursing Council Registration.
- 5–8 years of experience in PICU, NICU, ICU, or Critical Care Nursing.
- Strong knowledge of pediatric critical care procedures and emergency management.
- Experience in handling ventilators and critical care monitoring equipment.
- Certification in BLS and ACLS/PALS will be an added advantage.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
- Willingness to work rotational shifts.
