We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing engineering team building scalable APIs and data platforms. You will own delivery, technical direction, and team growth while driving AI-first engineering practices using automation and intelligent tooling to improve how we design, build, ship, and operate software. You will balance hands-on technical leadership with people management, operational excellence, and a strong focus on quality, reliability, and talent development.
Must Have
-
10+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in an engineering management or tech lead role with direct reports
-
Strong hands-on background with Go and Python in production systems
-
Experience building and operating APIs (REST and/or GraphQL) at scale
-
Deep familiarity with PostgreSQL, Redis, and ClickHouse (or comparable OLTP + cache + OLAP stack)
-
Proven experience with observability and monitoring using ELK and Grafana
-
Practical understanding of Data Lakehouse concepts: data ingestion, warehousing/lake patterns, and analytics pipelines
-
Track record of engineering excellence: code review culture, CI/CD, testing strategy, and technical debt management
-
Demonstrated operational excellence: incident management, SLOs, production support, and reliability improvements
-
Strong talent management skills: hiring, coaching, performance management, and team building
-
Excellent communication and stakeholder management across technical and non-technical audiences
-
Commitment to AI-first engineering: actively using AI tools to improve team productivity, quality, and decision-making
Nice to Have
-
Experience with Agentic AI systems: autonomous agents, tool-use workflows, RAG pipelines, or AI orchestration in production
-
Background in data engineering, streaming, or large-scale analytics platforms
-
Experience with cloud-native infrastructure, containers, and infrastructure-as-code
-
Familiarity with security, compliance, and data governance in regulated environments
-
Prior experience scaling teams through hypergrowth or platform modernization initiatives
Engineering Leadership
-
Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers; set clear goals, provide regular feedback, and support career development

Partner with Product, Design, and cross-functional stakeholders to translate business needs into technical roadmaps
-
Guide architecture and technical decisions across services, APIs, and data systems
-
Establish and uphold engineering standards: code quality, testing, documentation, and secure development practices
AI-First Engineering
-
Champion AI-first engineering: embed AI-assisted development, testing, observability, and operations into day-to-day workflows
-
Identify opportunities to automate repetitive work (code generation, reviews, incident triage, runbooks, data pipelines)
-
Build team capability to adopt agentic and LLM-based tools responsibly, with clear guardrails for security, quality, and compliance
-
Use data and AI-driven insights to improve velocity, defect rates, and operational efficiency
Technical Ownership
-
Oversee design and delivery of REST/GraphQL APIs and backend services in Go and Python
-
Guide data architecture across PostgreSQL, Redis, and ClickHouse for transactional, caching, and analytics workloads
-
Support Data Lakehouse strategy: ingestion, modeling, governance, and analytics enablement
-
Ensure systems are observable, debuggable, and production-ready using ELK and Grafana
Operational Excellence
-
Define and track SLOs/SLIs, incident response, postmortems, and continuous improvement
-
Drive reliability, performance, cost efficiency, and scalability across services and data platforms
-
Own capacity planning, on-call practices, and operational runbooks
-
Foster a blameless culture focused on learning and prevention
Talent Management
-
Hire, onboard, and retain strong engineers; build diverse, inclusive, high-trust teams
-
Conduct performance reviews, succession planning, and skills development
-
Create an environment where engineers do their best work and grow into senior IC or leadership roles
