The General Manager (GM) for Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) Service at an Ashok Leyland dealership or territory level is a critical leadership role. The position is directly responsible for workshop profitability, service quality, breakdown responses, and operational compliance with Ashok Leyland’s original equipment manufacturer (OEM) standards. The primary roles and responsibilities are broken down below: Workshop & Operational Management
- Turnaround Time (TAT): Monitor and minimize vehicle repair timelines to get commercial vehicles back on the road rapidly.
- Workflow Optimization: Oversee day-to-day operations across multiple service bays, managing Service Advisors, Technicians, and Floor Supervisors.
- Quality Assurance: Implement "First-Time-Fix" standards to avoid repeat jobs and customer complaints.
- Breakdown & Helpline Support: Manage immediate service responses to road-side breakdowns and coordinate with the Ashok Leyland Helpline.
Business Development & Financial Control
- Revenue Targets: Achieve monthly financial targets for labor sales, periodic maintenance contracts, and mechanical service volume.
- Spare Parts & Inventory: Maintain robust coordination with the parts department to ensure high stock availability of genuine Ashok Leyland spares while keeping inventory holding costs minimal.
- Fleet & Institutional Sales: Build long-term service relationships with fleet operators, logistics companies, and corporate clients to secure long-term servicing business.
- Cost & Overhead Control: Manage operational costs, reduce waste, and regularly review Management Information System (MIS) reports to improve overall dealership viability.
Customer & Principal (OEM) Relations
- Customer Retention & CSI: Manage the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) and resolve escalated customer grievances effectively.
- Warranty Administration: Supervise the precise handling, tracking, and auditing of warranty claims to prevent financial leakages.
- Service Campaigns: Plan and execute OEM-mandated check-up camps, safety campaigns, and product recall activities.
- Field Failure Reporting: Track and document unusual technical failures and forward detailed product performance reports back to Ashok Leyland’s technical teams.
Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
