Job Description
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage technical cost-down (VAVE) projects across the HVAC product lifecycle (from cradle to grave); deliver defined cost savings and performance targets.

Conduct value analysis and function-oriented cost modeling (BOM rationalization, part substitution, design-to-cost, target costing, TCO assessment) with Design/Engineering and Manufacturing.

Develop, track, and report project plans, milestones, savings realization, and risks; maintain accurate project data in systems.

Drive supplier engagement for VAVE activities: select, qualify, and collaborate with suppliers to achieve cost reductions, participate in negotiations, and manage supplier development plans.

Facilitate cross-functional workshops (Engineering, Sourcing, Quality, Manufacturing) to optimize components, assemblies, and processes; apply DFMEA/DFX and design-for-cost methodologies.

Support NPI and change-management processes (ECNs/PCNs) to implement cost-down concepts with minimal risk to quality and delivery.

Support to build and maintain cost models, cost breakdown structures, and target costs; perform priced-for-function analyses and trade-off studies.

Ensure alignment with procurement policies, governance, and compliance; monitor supplier risk and sustainability considerations.
Prepare and present status updates, savings reports, and KPI dashboards for stakeholders and leadership.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Thermal, Electrical, or related discipline) or equivalent technical background.

Experience: Minimum 5+ years in VAVE purchasing and project purchasing, with a proven track record of delivering cost-down projects. HVAC industry experience strongly preferred.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cost-down projects simultaneously, from concept through realization.

Strong understanding of BOM structures, ECN/PCN processes, change management, and supplier development.
