Job Overview
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Field Geotechnical Engineers to support geotechnical site investigations, drilling supervision, soil testing, and field data collection activities. This role is ideal for fresh Civil Engineering graduates who are eager to build a career in geotechnical engineering through hands-on field exposure.
Key Responsibilities Field Investigations & Site Activities
- Assist in borehole drilling, trial pits, and in-situ tests such as SPT, CPT, Vane Shear, and Permeability Tests
- Collect and label soil and rock samples as per project requirements
- Maintain borehole logs, field records, and daily progress reports
- Coordinate with drilling crews and monitor field activities
Testing & Documentation
- Perform basic soil identification and field classification
- Support sample handling, packaging, and transportation for laboratory testing
- Prepare field reports, site observations, and activity logs
- Maintain proper documentation, photographs, and testing records
Site Supervision & Safety
- Supervise field activities under senior engineer guidance
- Ensure adherence to safety procedures, PPE, and quality standards
- Report hazards, unsafe conditions, or incidents immediately
- Participate in daily safety briefings and toolbox talks
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in Civil Engineering OR B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering
- Freshers can apply
- 1–2 years of experience in geotechnical investigations or construction fieldwork is an added advantage
Preferred Skills
- Basic knowledge of soil mechanics and foundation engineering
- Familiarity with SPT, CPT, Plate Load Test, and borehole logging
- Understanding of IS Codes related to geotechnical investigations
- Ability to read engineering drawings and site plans
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
