Nominated Quality Assurance (NQA) Job Responsibilities – Garment Industry
A Nominated Quality Assurance (NQA) Executive represents the buyer or nominated inspection agency and ensures that garments are produced according to the buyer's quality standards, specifications, and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor garment production to ensure compliance with buyer quality standards.
- Conduct in-line, mid-line, and final quality inspections.
- Verify fabric, trims, accessories, and packaging materials meet approved specifications.
- Ensure production follows approved samples, size specifications, and technical packs.
- Inspect workmanship, measurements, color, shade, appearance, and garment construction.
- Identify quality issues and coordinate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) with factory teams.
- Monitor critical production stages to prevent defects before final inspection.
- Ensure compliance with AQL (Acceptable Quality Level) inspection requirements.
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports, audit findings, and quality records.
- Coordinate with merchandising, production, finishing, washing, and factory QA/QC teams.
- Follow up on rework, repairs, and corrective actions until completion.
- Support buyer visits and third-party quality inspections.
- Verify carton packing, labeling, barcode accuracy, and shipment quality before dispatch.
- Ensure compliance with buyer requirements, factory SOPs, and social compliance standards.
- Communicate inspection results and quality status to buyers and management.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of garment manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with buyer manuals, technical packs, and quality standards.
- Knowledge of AQL inspection procedures and garment defect classification.
- Good understanding of garment measurements, workmanship, and construction.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and quality reporting systems.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- First-pass inspection acceptance rate.
- Number of critical, major, and minor defects identified.
- On-time completion of inspections and reports.
- Reduction in customer complaints and shipment rejections.
- Corrective action closure rate.
- Compliance with buyer quality standards and AQL requirements.
- Shipment approval rate without quality-related delays.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
