As a Senior Engineer in Safety Systems Integration, you will lead the development and packaging of restraint systems within the vehicle's environment, ensuring optimal safety performance. Your role includes conducting airbag zone studies to delineate coverage areas such as CAB, SAB, and KAB, which are critical to passenger protection strategies.
You will perform thorough interface studies to identify and resolve potential issues between various vehicle systems, preparing interface sign-off documentation and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including BIW, trims, and electrical departments.
Utilising advanced CAD skills, particularly with CatiaV5 R21, you will design and draft components, contributing to both concept generation and detailed design stages.
You will manage supplier relationships, overseeing the development activities of restraint systems and ensuring that Design Verification Plans and Reports (DVP&R) are rigorously followed and documented.
Your responsibilities extend to defining pedestrian impact and seat belt anchorage zones with precision on vehicle CAD models, and generating essential deliverables such as Bill of Materials, part numbering, and engineering drawings required for homology and release processes.
You will oversee the design release workflow within Teamcenter, complete with gateways and clearance documents like lessons learned and design reviews.
Further, you will plan and facilitate Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA), design reviews, and develop and maintain DVPs. Ensuring the resolution of concerns relating to restraint systems, you will address issues arising during line build and prototype build phases.
A proactive focus on weight and cost reduction initiatives, as well as warranty issue resolution, will be integral to enhancing product competitiveness and reliability. Analyzing crash test data and assessing the performance of restraint components will sharpen your contributions to safety advancements.
