Role Overview
The LAP Facilitator supports neurodivergent children within the inclusive schooling program by implementing individualized learning and developmental strategies. The role focuses on enhancing communication, social interaction, behaviour regulation, sensory integration, independence, and school readiness through structured support within classroom routines.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized goals and intervention plans in collaboration with therapists, teachers, and parents.
- Provide one-on-one and small-group support for children with developmental, behavioural, sensory, and learning needs.
- Work closely with classroom teachers to adapt activities, classroom environments, and teaching methods based on each child’s needs.
- Support children in improving communication, social skills, sitting tolerance, emotional regulation, independence, and participation in classroom routines.
- Maintain detailed session notes, progress reports, and documentation for each child.
- Conduct regular parent meetings and provide home strategies to support consistency across settings.
- Collaborate with occupational therapists, speech therapists, psychologists, and other professionals to ensure holistic intervention.
- Create and use visual supports, sensory activities, behaviour strategies, and structured learning materials.
- Participate in case discussions, trainings, and professional development programs.
- Ensure inclusion and participation of neurodivergent children within the preschool setting.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of child development and neurodiversity.
- Ability to manage behaviour and implement structured routines.
- Good observation, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and parents.
- Patience, empathy, flexibility, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of sensory strategies, behaviour management, and early intervention approaches is preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Special Education
- Experience working with neurodivergent children in preschool, therapy, or educational settings preferred.
- Freshers with relevant internships or practical exposure may also apply.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, sensory processing differences, developmental delays, or behavioural concerns.
- Familiarity with individualized education/support planning and classroom-based intervention.
