We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Architect with 15+ years of hands-on expertise in designing and executing enterprise-scale database migration projects from on-premises environments to Microsoft Azure Cloud. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in database architecture, migration strategy, performance tuning, modernization, and Azure ecosystem technologies while working closely with Architecture, DevOps, and Application teams.
Key Responsibilities
Database Architecture & Migration
- Lead end-to-end database migration initiatives from on-premises environments to Azure Cloud.
- Design and implement migration strategies ensuring minimal downtime and business continuity.
- Perform hands-on migration execution, not just architectural planning.
- Handle schema conversion, dependency analysis, compatibility assessments, and remediation.
- Validate migrated data through reconciliation and integrity checks.
- Optimize migrated databases for performance, scalability, availability, and cost efficiency.
- Resolve migration-related issues such as performance degradation, system instability, and resource utilization challenges.
Database Administration
- Manage databases including:
- Microsoft SQL Server
- MySQL
- PostgreSQL
- MongoDB
- Design High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.
- Define backup, recovery, and business continuity strategies.
- Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and scalability assessments.
Collaboration & Support
- Collaborate with Architects, DevOps Engineers, and Application Development teams.
- Troubleshoot production issues and provide critical support during migration activities.
- Drive enterprise-scale database modernization initiatives.
