Job Description

Provide strategic technical leadership in defining and evolving cloud-native platform architecture across products and domains.

Lead the design and implementation of scalable, resilient, and secure AWS-based architectures aligned with best practices and Well-Architected Framework.

Guide development of scalable MLOps and data platforms using Python, AWS (SageMaker, Lambda, Step Functions, S3, ECR), and containerisation (Docker, ECS/Fargate/EKS).

Oversee end-to-end architecture decisions, ensuring alignment with business goals, scalability, and cost optimisation strategies.

Lead and influence cross-functional teams (Architecture, Product, CloudOps, Engineering) to accelerate adoption of platform capabilities.

Establish best practices for system design, coding standards, testing, CI/CD, and operational excellence.

Mentor and coach senior engineers, encouraging engineering excellence and building future technical leaders.

Improve performance optimisation, reliability improvements, and defect prevention programs across systems.

Partner with leadership to define long-term platform vision, roadmap, and innovation strategy.

Act as an important technical advisor to leadership and team members, translating complex technical decisions into outcomes.

Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; Master's preferred.
-
You need to have 12+ years of experience in software engineering, including significant experience as a Staff or Principal Engineer.
-
You need to have 7+ years of experience designing and delivering cloud-native solutions on AWS at scale.
-
Experience with MLOps platforms such as AWS SageMaker, Kubeflow, or MLflow.
-
Hands-on programming experience using Python and modern frameworks (Flask, FastAPI, AsyncIO).
-
Expertise in CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and infrastructure-as-code.

Experience messaging systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or SQS.
-
Strong knowledge of system reliability, observability, and performance tuning.

Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with globally distributed teams.
Nice to Have

Experience with monitoring tools such as Dynatrace or Splunk.

Experience with ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.

Hands-on experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow.

Experience building automated data pipelines and real-time analytical systems.

Exposure to cost optimisation strategies in cloud environments.
