Samms Tech SPM Automation is looking for an experienced Milling Machine Operator with strong knowledge of operating conventional milling machines. The ideal candidate should be able to read engineering drawings, understand machining requirements, select appropriate cutting tools, and produce precision components according to specifications. Candidates with experience in SPM manufacturing and precision machining will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate conventional milling machines to manufacture precision machine components.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and machining diagrams.
- Set up workpieces, fixtures, and cutting tools before machining operations.
- Perform face milling, slot milling, drilling, keyway cutting, and profile milling.
- Ensure dimensional accuracy using Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauges, Dial Gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Monitor machining operations and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality.
- Inspect finished components to ensure they meet drawing specifications and tolerances.
- Maintain the milling machine and perform routine preventive maintenance.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Coordinate with the Production, Design, and Quality teams to ensure timely completion of machining work.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of conventional milling machine operations.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and machining diagrams.
- Experience in fixture setup and component alignment.
- Good understanding of machining tolerances and surface finish requirements.
- Hands-on experience with precision measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and machining parameters.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Candidate Profile
