Job Summary
The Store Officer is responsible for managing the receipt, storage, preservation, and issuance of raw materials, consumables, spare parts, tools, equipment, and maintenance items required for smooth operation of the steel plant. The role ensures inventory accuracy, material availability, and compliance with company procedures and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities1. Inventory & Stock Management
- Maintain optimum inventory levels of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and production consumables.
- Monitor stock movement and ensure uninterrupted availability of critical spares and materials.
- Conduct daily, monthly, and annual stock verification.
- Identify slow-moving, non-moving, and obsolete inventory items.
2. Material Receipt & Inspection
- Receive materials against Purchase Orders (POs), Delivery Challans, and Invoices.
- Verify quantity, specifications, and quality of incoming materials.
- Coordinate with Quality Control and User Departments for inspection and acceptance.
- Prepare and maintain Goods Receipt Notes (GRN).
3. Material Storage & Preservation
- Ensure proper storage and preservation of spares, electrodes, bearings, lubricants, refractories, rolls, and other critical items.
- Implement FIFO (First In First Out) and inventory control procedures.
- Maintain proper identification, coding, and binning of materials.
- Ensure safe handling and storage of hazardous and sensitive materials.
4. Material Issue & Dispatch
- Issue materials against approved Material Requisition Slips (MRS).
- Maintain accurate records of material issuance and returns.
- Ensure timely supply of materials to Production, Maintenance, SMS, Rolling Mill, Power Plant, and Utility Departments.
- Monitor material consumption trends.
5. ERP & Documentation
- Update inventory transactions in ERP/SAP systems.
- Maintain stock registers, bin cards, and inventory reports.
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports.
- Maintain complete documentation for audits and compliance requirements.
6. Coordination with Departments
- Coordinate with Procurement, Production, Maintenance, Finance, and Logistics teams.
- Assist in planning procurement of critical spares and consumables.
- Resolve inventory discrepancies and material shortages.
7. Safety, Housekeeping & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with plant safety standards and warehouse procedures.
- Maintain proper housekeeping in store areas.
- Follow 5S practices and material handling guidelines.
- Support internal and external audits.

Qualification
- Diploma/B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Metallurgical Engineering, or Graduate in Commerce/Management.
- 3–8 years of experience in Stores/Warehouse operations in a Steel Plant, Manufacturing Plant, or Heavy Industry.
Pay: From ₹20,000.00 per month
Work Location: In person
