The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end manufacturing operations for caps & closures, ensuring optimal productivity, quality, cost efficiency, and adherence to safety and compliance standards.
- Manage daily production operations for compression molding of caps & closures.
- Ensure achievement of production targets (quantity, quality, cost, delivery).
- Monitor machine efficiency (OEE), downtime, and implement corrective actions.
- Lead and develop production team including supervisors, operators, and technicians.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure strict adherence to quality standards (ISO, FSSC, GMP practices).
- Coordinate with maintenance team for preventive & breakdown maintenance.
- Optimize manpower utilization and production planning.
- Ensure compliance with safety, EHS, and statutory requirements.
- Work closely with QA, SCM, and Planning teams for smooth operations.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives and minimize wastage/rejections.
- Bachelor’s/Diploma in Mechanical / Plastics / Production Engineering.
- 8–12 years of experience in plastic caps & closures manufacturing.
- Strong exposure to Compression Molding.
- Hands-on experience in high-speed production environments.
- Knowledge of quality standards: ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, FDA compliance.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and team management skills.
- Experience in beverage/packaging industry (CSD, water, juice closures).
- Knowledge of tooling, mold maintenance, and automation.
- Exposure to SAP/ERP systems.
