Position: Operations HeadReporting To: Director Location: Ambad, NashikRole Summary -
The Operations Head will be responsible for end-to-end planning, execution and control of manufacturing operations in a semi-automatic corrugated box manufacturing unit. The role includes oversight of production, PPC, raw material planning, manpower management, quality control, machine maintenance & technical support. A Production In-charge and Store In-charge will work with this position.
1. Production Planning & Control
- Prepare and monitor daily/weekly production plans based on customer orders, priority, and delivery schedules as received.
- Engage with Production in charge to ensure production and dispatch as per schedule.
- Monitor and track daily production output across processes vs Planned output, identify deviations and wastage and implement actions to achieve targets.
- Ensure proper maintenance of all PPC-related documentation including order status, WIP records, production registers, and dispatch summaries.
2. Material and Inventory Management
- Forecast, calculate and plan weekly/monthly raw material requirements as per order plan.
- Release purchase orders and coordinate with suppliers for timely inward.
- Ensure optimal stock levels without over inventory.
- Coordinate with vendors and support store in-charge in GRN, issues and FIFO.
3. Manpower Management
- Plan manpower requirement and allocation to meet targeted output.
- De risk production losses due to manpower shortages by assisting in hiring, training and skill development of work force.
- Ensure discipline, attendance, productivity and safe working practices.
- Provide technical guidance to shop floor teams.
- Impart regular training to operators and work force on SOPs, safety, and material handling.
4. Quality Control & Process Improvement
- Monitor quality parameters across processes, in WIP material and FG.
- Implement corrective actions in case of deviations.
- Drive process improvements to reduce waste and rejections.
- Ensure proper maintenance of QC logs, batch records, sample approvals, and daily production reports.
5. Machine Maintenance & Technical Support
- Plan preventive maintenance and minimize breakdowns.
- Coordinate with technicians for repairs.
- Provide operational and technical support to machine operators.
- Plan and oversee overall installation and commissioning of new machinery.
6. Safety, Compliance & Housekeeping
- Ensure proper safety protocols are in place across operations.
- Ensure compliance with legal, labour, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain 5S standards and overall plant hygiene.
7. New Product Development
- Work with current and new customers on new product development.
- Coordinate with stakeholders from designing, sampling, planning to delivery.
- Work on BoM creation in ERP.
Experience & Qualification
· Minimum 8 years of exposure to medium scale semi-automatic corrugation packaging manufacturing line.
· Hands on experience with corrugation line/ machinery running operations.
· Team handling experience.
· Domain specific knowledge relating to kraft paper, printing, quality parameters.
Key Skills & Competencies
- In dept knowledge of key corrugation machine running operations.
- Strong knowledge of production planning, shop-floor management and quality processes.
- Strong understanding of domain specific corrugation parameters (temperature, moisture, GSM, flute profiles, glue formulation).
- Customer communication skills.
- Raw material management and vendor coordination skills.
- Ability to lead teams, train manpower and enforce SOPs.
- Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical maintenance.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Google Sheets, and ERP tools.

Work Conditions –
