Job Summary
Suntek Tooling is looking for an experienced Sheet Metal Development & Quality Engineer with strong hands-on experience in automotive sheet-metal component development, stamping and press-tool development.
The candidate will be responsible for coordinating component development from customer drawing and feasibility through press-tool tryout, corrections, inspection and final customer approval.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Study customer drawings and sheet-metal component requirements.
- Perform component feasibility and manufacturability review.
- Coordinate with tool designers and tool-room manufacturing teams.
- Support blank development, forming and stamping process development.
- Coordinate press-tool tryout and die correction activities.
- Identify and analyse defects such as burr, crack, wrinkle, springback and dimensional variation.
- Check trial components as per drawing, GD&T and customer requirements.
- Coordinate with the practical die-maker/tryout team for corrections.
- Prepare inspection reports and maintain development records.
- Prepare and support PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan and related quality documentation.
- Coordinate with customers regarding development issues, dimensional requirements and approvals.
- Ensure successful component development from first trial to final approval.
- Reduce rework, trial cycles and development lead time.
- Support continuous improvement in sheet-metal component and press-tool development.
Required Experience & Skills
- 5–8 years experience in sheet-metal component development / stamping / press tools.
- Automotive sheet-metal experience preferred.
- Good understanding of progressive dies, forming dies and press-tool development.
- Good knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawings.
- Practical understanding of press-tool tryout and die correction.
- Knowledge of stamping defects and their root-cause analysis.
- Experience with PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan and inspection documentation.
- Ability to coordinate with Design, Tool Room, Production and Quality teams.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to independently handle development activities and customer requirements.
Qualification
Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Tool & Die or related field.
Relevant practical experience in sheet-metal development and press tools will also be considered.
Preferred Candidate
Experience in automotive Tier-1 / Tier-2 suppliers, stamping companies or tool rooms will be preferred.
Candidate should be able to work practically with tool design, manufacturing and tryout teams, not only perform documentation/inspection activities.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
