A Safety Officer in an interior fit-out or interior office project is responsible for ensuring that all work is carried out safely, in compliance with legal regulations, and without risk to workers, clients, or visitors.
Job Responsibilities of a Safety Officer (Interior Office Projects)
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and local health and safety regulations.
- Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify workplace hazards.
- Prepare and implement safety plans, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety induction training for all workers and subcontractors.
- Monitor the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as helmets, safety shoes, gloves, goggles, and reflective vests.
- Ensure safe practices during activities such as ceiling work, electrical work, painting, glass installation, and carpentry.
- Inspect scaffolding, ladders, electrical tools, and lifting equipment before use.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain safety records, inspection reports, permits, and incident documentation.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness, including fire safety, evacuation drills, and first aid arrangements.
- Ensure good housekeeping and proper waste disposal to prevent slips, trips, and falls.
- Monitor contractor and subcontractor compliance with safety requirements.
- Stop unsafe work when there is an immediate risk to people or property.
- Coordinate with project managers, clients, and regulatory authorities during safety inspections.
- Ensure work permits are obtained for high-risk activities such as hot work, work at height, and confined space entry.
Pay: ₹12,134.80 - ₹44,371.42 per month
