Job Summary
The Planning Engineer (Civil) is responsible for planning, scheduling, monitoring, and controlling construction activities to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality and safety standards. The role involves preparing project schedules, tracking progress, coordinating with various stakeholders, and generating project reports.
Key Responsibilities
· Prepare detailed project schedules using project management software.
· Develop Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), project milestones, and activity sequencing.
· Monitor project progress against the baseline schedule.
· Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
· Identify project delays and recommend corrective actions.
· Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, procurement, and subcontractors to ensure timely execution.
· Track manpower, materials, machinery, and productivity.
· Monitor project costs and support cost control activities.
· Conduct schedule variance and critical path analysis.
· Prepare recovery plans for delayed activities.
· Review engineering drawings and construction methodology for planning purposes.
· Participate in project review meetings and present planning updates.
· Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
· Maintain project documentation and planning records.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (B.E./B.Tech).
· Certification in Project Management (PMP/Primavera/MS Project) is an added advantage.
Experience
· 7–12 years of experience in planning and scheduling civil construction projects.
· Experience in industrial, commercial, infrastructure, or residential projects is preferred.
Technical Skills
· Proficiency in Primavera P6.
· Strong knowledge of Microsoft Project.
· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
· Knowledge of AutoCAD for drawing interpretation.
· Understanding of project scheduling, resource planning, and cost control.
· Familiarity with construction methodologies and contract management.
