Position Summary
The OT Manager is responsible for the efficient administration, coordination, and supervision of all Operation Theatre services, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety, clinical quality, infection prevention, resource utilization, and regulatory compliance. The role involves managing OT personnel, surgical scheduling, equipment maintenance, inventory control, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Management
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of all Operation Theatres.
- Ensure smooth coordination of elective and emergency surgical procedures.
- Monitor OT utilization and optimize theatre scheduling.
- Ensure adherence to established clinical and operational protocols.
- Coordinate with surgeons, anesthetists, nursing teams, and other departments for seamless patient care.
Leadership and Staff Management
- Supervise OT nursing staff, technicians, and support personnel.
- Prepare and manage duty rosters and workforce allocation.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Identify training needs and facilitate continuous professional development.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and patient-centered care.
Quality Assurance and Patient Safety
- Ensure compliance with patient safety standards and surgical safety protocols.
- Monitor implementation of the WHO Surgical Safety Checklist.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives within the OT complex.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and adverse events and implement corrective actions.
- Participate in internal audits and accreditation activities.
Infection Prevention and Control
- Ensure strict adherence to infection control policies and aseptic practices.
- Monitor sterilization processes and OT environmental standards.
- Coordinate with Infection Control and CSSD teams.
- Ensure proper biomedical waste management as per statutory requirements.
Equipment and Inventory Management
- Ensure availability and functionality of surgical instruments and equipment.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and calibration schedules.
- Monitor inventory levels of consumables, implants, and surgical supplies.
- Control departmental expenditures and prevent wastage.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with NABH, JCI, and other applicable healthcare standards.
- Maintain departmental policies, SOPs, records, and documentation.
- Prepare periodic operational and performance reports for management review.
Qualifications
- B.Sc Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc Nursing / B.Sc Operation Theatre Technology.
- Master's Degree in Hospital Administration, Healthcare Management, or related field preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in Operation Theatre services.
- At least 3–5 years of managerial or supervisory experience in a multi-specialty hospital.
Required Competencies

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
