We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Anesthesia Technician to assist anesthesiologists in the preparation, maintenance, and monitoring of anesthesia equipment and patients during surgical and medical procedures. The candidate will ensure the smooth functioning of anesthesia services while maintaining patient safety, infection control, and OT protocols.
- Prepare and check anesthesia machines, ventilators, monitors, suction apparatus, and gas supply systems before procedures.
- Assist anesthesiologists during general, regional, and local anesthesia administration.
- Prepare airway equipment, intubation trays, IV lines, syringes, emergency drugs, and monitoring devices.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs during procedures under supervision.
- Ensure proper sterilization, cleaning, and maintenance of anesthesia instruments and reusable equipment.
- Maintain anesthesia carts, emergency crash carts, and OT inventory.
- Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report malfunctions immediately.
- Assist in invasive procedures such as arterial lines, central lines, and difficult airway management.
- Ensure availability of oxygen cylinders, soda lime canisters, and essential anesthesia supplies.
- Support patient positioning and transportation before and after procedures.
- Follow infection control protocols, biomedical waste management, and patient safety guidelines.
- Maintain accurate documentation of equipment checks, maintenance logs, and inventory records.
- Assist during emergency and trauma cases whenever required.
- Coordinate effectively with surgeons, OT nurses, ICU staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Anesthesia Technology or Operation Theatre Technology.
- Certification in BLS (Basic Life Support) preferred.
- Relevant experience in OT or anesthesia department preferred.
