Job Summary
The Fabric Head is responsible for managing fabric sourcing, procurement, development, quality control, inventory planning, and vendor management to ensure timely availability of fabrics for production while maintaining quality standards and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities1. Fabric Sourcing & Procurement
- Identify and develop new fabric suppliers and mills.
- Source fabrics as per design and production requirements.
- Negotiate prices, lead times, and payment terms with vendors.
- Ensure timely procurement of fabrics to meet production schedules.
2. Fabric Development
- Coordinate with the Design and Merchandising teams for fabric developments.
- Arrange fabric samples, swatches, and approvals.
- Track developments from sampling to bulk production.
3. Vendor Management
- Maintain strong relationships with fabric mills and suppliers.
- Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery, and pricing.
- Conduct regular vendor audits and assessments.
4. Quality Control
- Ensure fabrics meet company quality standards.
- Monitor fabric testing, shade approvals, GSM, shrinkage, and color fastness.
- Coordinate with QA teams to resolve fabric-related issues.
5. Inventory Management
- Monitor fabric stock levels and consumption.
- Minimize excess inventory and fabric wastage.
- Ensure proper fabric storage and stock reconciliation.
6. Production Coordination
- Coordinate with merchandising, planning, and production teams.
- Ensure fabric availability as per production timelines.
- Resolve fabric shortages and quality concerns promptly.
7. Cost Control
- Optimize fabric costs without compromising quality.
- Analyze fabric consumption and wastage reports.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives.
8. Reporting & MIS
- Prepare fabric procurement and consumption reports.
- Maintain vendor database and fabric records.
- Submit regular MIS reports to management.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of woven, knitted, denim, and specialty fabrics.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Understanding of fabric testing and quality parameters.
- Knowledge of ERP systems and inventory management.
- Strong analytical and planning abilities.
Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
