We're seeking a motivated and technically skilled Field Support Engineer to join our team. In this dynamic role, you'll be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and providing training on our precision SMT pick-and-place machines for electronics assembly. Your primary goal will be to ensure outstanding customer satisfaction by delivering exceptional technical support and guidance throughout the machine's implementation and use.
Responsibilities:
- Installation and Commissioning: Travel to customer sites to install, configure, and test precision pick-and-place machines for electronics assembly. Ensure all systems meet operational standards and customer requirements.
- Customer Training: Conduct comprehensive on-site training sessions for customers, covering machine operation, maintenance, and best practices in electronics assembly. Develop and deliver clear and effective training materials.
- Troubleshooting and Support: Provide timely and effective technical support to customers. Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to machine hardware, software, and process integration.
- Problem Resolution: Take ownership of customer issues, seeing them through to complete resolution, escalating to senior engineering resources when necessary.
- Knowledge Documentation: Create and maintain detailed knowledge base articles, technical notes, and documentation for both internal use and customer reference.
Qualifications:
- Technical Skills: Strong foundation in electronics, mechanics, or a related field. Experience with precision machinery, robotics, or assembly processes is a plus.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to customers with varying technical backgrounds.
- Problem-Solving Mindset: Proactive problem-solving approach with the ability to think independently and creatively.
- Customer Focus: Dedication to customer service, with a willingness to go the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Travel Availability: Willingness to travel extensively to customer sites
- Education: Degree/Diploma in computer science, electronics, mechanical engineering, or a closely related field.
Additional Qualifications:
- 0-2 years of experience in a technical support, field service, or engineering role.
- Experience with automated assembly equipment.
- Familiarity with electronics manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in video editing software to create engaging and informative training videos.
- Familiarity with Python, Java is desirable.
