Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented and passionate QA Engineer (Mobile App) to join our product development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality, functionality, usability, and performance of Android and iOS applications through comprehensive manual and automated testing. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and designers to deliver high-quality mobile applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze business and functional requirements to create comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Perform manual testing of Android and iOS mobile applications.
- Execute functional, regression, integration, smoke, sanity, usability, compatibility, and exploratory testing.
- Identify, document, track, and verify defects using bug-tracking tools.
- Collaborate with developers to resolve issues and ensure timely defect closure.
- Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospective meetings in an Agile environment.
- Validate UI/UX consistency across multiple devices, screen sizes, and operating system versions.
- Perform API testing using tools such as Postman.
- Conduct performance, installation, and network interruption testing.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using mobile automation frameworks where applicable.
- Ensure application quality before release by conducting end-to-end testing.
- Maintain detailed test documentation, test reports, and release sign-off reports.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to continuously improve QA processes and testing methodologies.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Hands-on experience in manual testing of Android and iOS applications.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience with bug tracking tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or Bugzilla.
- Experience in API testing using Postman or similar tools.
- Understanding of mobile application architecture and testing methodologies.
- Familiarity with database testing using SQL.
- Knowledge of Git or other version control systems.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with automation testing using Appium, Selenium, Espresso, or XCUITest.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Firebase Crashlytics, TestFlight, Google Play Console, or App Store Connect.
- Understanding of performance testing tools.
- Experience with cloud device testing platforms such as BrowserStack or Sauce Labs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in Mobile Application QA.
- ISTQB certification is a plus.
