Fire Pipeline Fitter
Job Summary
The Fire Pipeline Fitter is responsible for installing, assembling, fitting, repairing, and maintaining fire protection piping systems, including sprinkler and hydrant pipelines, according to approved drawings, specifications, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and understand piping drawings, isometric drawings, and layouts.
- Measure, cut, thread, groove, and fit pipes as per drawings and specifications.
- Install fire sprinkler, hydrant, and other fire protection pipeline systems.
- Assemble pipes, fittings, valves, flanges, supports, and related components.
- Perform pipe alignment and ensure correct levels, slopes, and dimensions.
- Install pipe supports, hangers, clamps, and brackets.
- Assist with hydrostatic pressure testing and flushing of pipelines.
- Identify and correct leaks, misalignment, and installation defects.
- Use hand tools, power tools, threading machines, grooving machines, and cutting equipment safely.
- Coordinate with supervisors, welders, helpers, and other construction team members.
- Follow site safety rules, PPE requirements, and company procedures.
- Maintain good housekeeping and keep the work area clean and safe.
- Report damaged materials, unsafe conditions, and work-related issues to the supervisor.
Qualifications
- ITI, technical training, or relevant trade certification preferred.
- Experience in fire fighting pipeline installation or industrial piping work.
- Ability to read and understand piping drawings.
- Knowledge of pipes, fittings, valves, sprinkler systems, and hydrant systems.
- Familiarity with threading and grooving operations.
- Good knowledge of safe working practices.
- Physically fit and able to work at heights and in construction environments.
Preferred Experience
2–5 years of experience in fire fighting pipeline installation, sprinkler systems, hydrant systems, or related piping work.
