Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Medical Coder to work remotely on a freelance or consultant basis. The candidate should have practical experience in medical coding and the ability to independently handle assigned coding tasks while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Review medical records and clinical documentation accurately.
- Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes based on documentation.
- Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with applicable coding guidelines.
- Identify incomplete or unclear documentation and seek clarification when required.
- Complete assigned coding work within agreed timelines and productivity targets.
- Maintain high-quality coding standards and minimize errors.
- Participate in quality audits and incorporate feedback.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient and client information.
- Coordinate with the concerned team remotely through email, phone, or online communication platforms.
- Stay updated with relevant medical coding guidelines and industry changes.
Eligibility & Requirements
- 1–2 years of relevant medical coding experience.
- Candidates with experience in healthcare BPO, medical billing, or medical coding operations are preferred.
- Freelancers and independent medical coders are welcome to apply.
- Candidates willing to work as a Medical Coding Consultant may also apply.
- Good knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and clinical documentation.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good communication and time-management skills.
- Must have a reliable internet connection and a suitable work-from-home setup.
Preferred Certification
- CPC (Certified Professional Coder)
- CCS (Certified Coding Specialist)
- CCA (Certified Coding Associate)
- Other recognized medical coding certifications
Pay: Up to ₹35,000.00 per month
