Job description:
We are looking for a Junior NPD Engineer to support the development of new products from concept to production stage. The candidate will assist in product design, 2D/3D drawings, prototype development, testing, and coordination with production and quality teams. This role is ideal for someone with basic knowledge of product design, SolidWorks/CAD, and manufacturing processes, who is willing to learn and grow in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in developing new products from concept stage to production stage.
- Prepare 2D drawings, 3D models, and basic design documents using SolidWorks/CAD software.
- Support in making BOMs, product specifications, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate with production, quality, purchase, and stores teams during product development.
- Assist in prototype development, sample preparation, and trial execution.
- Help in identifying design changes and product improvements for better performance and manufacturability.
- Support in resolving basic design-related issues during production and assembly.
- Maintain drawing revisions, design records, and development files properly.
- Work with senior engineers for testing, validation, and implementation of new products.
- Ensure that designs are practical, accurate, and suitable for manufacturing processes.
- Follow company quality standards and product development procedures.
- Assist in timely completion of assigned product development tasks.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or other CAD software
- Understanding of 2D drawings, 3D modelling, and BOM preparation
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication, and assembly
- Good problem-solving and learning attitude
- Ability to coordinate with different departments
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Attention to detail and documentation skills
- Basic understanding of prototype development and product improvement
Qualification
- Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or related field
- Freshers with good technical knowledge may also be considered
- Candidates with certification or hands-on knowledge in SolidWorks/CAD will be preferred

- 1 to years of experience in product design, CAD design, or new product development
