Job Title: Transplant Staff Nurse
Department: Transplant Unit
Qualification: B.Sc Nursing / GNM (with valid RNRM )
Experience: Minimum 1year (ICU/CCU/MDCCU/ER/Transplant)
Key Responsibilities:
1. Patient Care
- Provide direct nursing care to pre- and post-transplant patients
- Monitor vital signs, fluid balance, and clinical status
- Assist in managing critically ill transplant patients
- Administer medications, including immunosuppressants, as prescribed
2. Pre-Transplant Care
- Prepare patients for transplant procedures
- Assist in diagnostic tests and evaluations
- Ensure proper documentation and consent procedures
3. Post-Transplant Care
- Monitor for signs of rejection, infection, or complications
- Maintain strict aseptic techniques
- Assist in wound care and post-surgical recovery
4. Infection Control
- Follow strict infection prevention protocols
- Maintain isolation procedures when required
- Educate patients and families on hygiene and precautions
5. Medication Management
- Administer IV/IM/oral medications accurately
- Monitor for drug side effects (especially immunosuppressants)
- Ensure adherence to medication schedules
6. Documentation
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records
- Document nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes
- Assist in maintaining transplant registry data if required
7. Patient & Family Education
- Educate patients about post-transplant care, medications, and lifestyle changes
- Provide discharge instructions and follow-up care guidance
8. Team Collaboration
- Work closely with doctors, transplant coordinators, and multidisciplinary teams
- Participate in ward rounds and case discussions
