Job Summary
We are looking for a responsible and experienced Safety Officer to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for implementing and monitoring workplace health and safety practices at project sites, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and promoting a safe working environment for all employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor daily site activities to ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments at the work site
- Identify workplace hazards and recommend corrective actions
- Ensure proper usage of personal protective equipment (PPE) by workers and staff
- Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness training programs
- Maintain safety records, reports, and documentation
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-miss cases and prepare reports
- Coordinate with project/site teams to implement safety procedures effectively
- Ensure compliance with statutory safety regulations and guidelines
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Engineering or related safety discipline
- Minimum 3 years of site experience as a Safety Officer or in a similar role
- Good knowledge of workplace safety standards and regulations
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and handle site safety responsibilities efficiently
Preferred Qualifications
- Safety certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent will be an added advantage
- Experience in construction/industrial project sites preferred
