Role Overview
We are looking for a creative, enthusiastic, and skilled Art Teacher who can inspire students to explore their imagination and develop their artistic abilities. The candidate should create engaging learning experiences through various forms of visual art while maintaining a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct age-appropriate art lessons aligned with the school curriculum.
- Teach drawing, painting, sketching, colouring, craft, and other visual-art techniques.
- Introduce students to different art styles, artists, cultures, and creative concepts.
- Encourage creativity, self-expression, observation, and critical-thinking skills.
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and art resources in advance.
- Assess students’ progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain students’ artwork, portfolios, and assessment records.
- Organise art exhibitions, displays, competitions, and creative school activities.
- Support stage decoration, event backdrops, bulletin boards, and school celebrations.
- Identify and mentor students with exceptional artistic talent.
- Ensure the safe use and proper maintenance of art materials and equipment.
- Maintain classroom discipline and ensure students’ safety and well-being.
- Collaborate with teachers, coordinators, and parents regarding students’ development.
- Participate actively in school events, meetings, training programmes, and assigned duties.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fine Arts, Visual Arts, Applied Arts, or a related field.
- Relevant certification or diploma in Art may also be considered.
Experience
- Minimum 2–3 years of teaching experience in a recognised school is preferred.
- Freshers with strong artistic skills and effective classroom-management abilities may also apply.
Required Skills
- Strong drawing, painting, craft, and visual-art skills.
- Creativity and passion for working with children.
- Good communication and classroom-management skills.
- Ability to plan engaging, student-centred activities.
- Knowledge of different art techniques, mediums, and materials.
- Patience, adaptability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to use digital-art tools will be an added advantage.
