Food Regulatory Affairs Specialist (Food Labelling & Compliance)
Role Overview : We are seeking a skilled FSSAI Regulatory Affairs professional to ensure compliance with food safety regulations, product labelling requirements, and regulatory documentation. The role will involve reviewing food labels, ingredients, packaging materials, claims, and supporting regulatory approvals in accordance with applicable FSSAI requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and verify food product labels for compliance with FSSAI Labelling and Display Regulations.
- Check ingredient lists, additive declarations, allergen information, nutritional panels, and mandatory declarations.
- Review product claims such as nutritional, health, functional, and marketing claims for regulatory compliance.
- Support FSSAI license-related activities, renewals, modifications, and documentation.
- Prepare and maintain regulatory files, compliance records, and product dossiers.
- Coordinate with R&D, quality, packaging, marketing, and manufacturing teams on compliance requirements.
- Interpret food regulations, notifications, amendments, and regulatory updates.
- Assist with responses to regulatory queries, audits, and compliance observations.
- Conduct compliance reviews of packaging artwork before printing.
- Provide guidance on new product launches from a regulatory perspective.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Nutrition, Microbiology, Life Sciences, Law, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in FSSAI regulatory affairs, food labelling, or food compliance.
- Strong understanding of FSSAI regulations, especially labelling, packaging, ingredients, additives, and claims.
- Experience reviewing food product labels and packaging artwork.
- Ability to research and interpret regulatory requirements.
- Good documentation and communication skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with FMCG, food manufacturing, nutraceuticals, beverages, or packaged foods.
- Knowledge of BIS, Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities), and other food-related regulations.
- Experience working with regulatory consultants, laboratories, or government authorities.

Pay: ₹840,000.00 - ₹1,200,000.00 per year
