Job Purpose
We are looking for an experienced Senior Procurement Professional to manage end-to-end procurement activities for our manufacturing operations across Borivali and Wada. The role will be responsible for sourcing raw materials, engineering components, consumables and services, developing reliable vendors, negotiating commercial terms, ensuring timely material availability and controlling procurement costs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Procurement & Purchase Management
- Manage end-to-end procurement activities from indent/requirement to PO and material delivery.
- Procure raw materials, engineering components, hardware, consumables, electrical items, fabrication materials and other manufacturing requirements.
- Ensure timely availability of materials as per production and project schedules.
- Coordinate closely with Production, PPC, Stores, Projects, Design, Quality and Finance teams.
- Monitor open POs and ensure timely delivery from suppliers.
2. Vendor Development & Management
- Identify, evaluate and develop new vendors as per company requirements.
- Maintain and expand the approved vendor base for different categories.
- Evaluate vendors on quality, cost, delivery, capacity and service.
- Negotiate with suppliers for better pricing, payment terms, lead time and commercial conditions.
- Conduct regular vendor performance reviews and take corrective actions where required.
3. Cost & Commercial Management
- Obtain and compare quotations from multiple suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing and achieve cost savings without compromising quality or delivery.
- Conduct market research and monitor price fluctuations of key raw materials.
- Develop cost-effective sourcing strategies.
- Maintain proper procurement records, comparative statements and negotiation details.
4. Manufacturing Procurement
- Understand manufacturing requirements, BOMs, drawings/specifications and material requirements.
- Ensure procurement is aligned with BOM, production planning and project timelines.
- Coordinate with the factory at Wada for material planning and urgent procurement requirements.
- Support procurement for fabrication, sheet metal, structural, electrical, mechanical and other engineering-related requirements.
5. Purchase Order & Documentation
- Prepare and release purchase orders after obtaining necessary approvals.
- Ensure PO terms, specifications, quantities, rates, taxes and delivery schedules are accurate.
- Maintain procurement MIS, vendor databases, PO trackers and pending order reports.
- Ensure proper documentation for invoices, GRN, quality documents and vendor records.
6. Coordination with Wada Manufacturing Plant
- Regularly coordinate with the Wada plant regarding material requirements, shortages, urgent purchases and delivery schedules.
- Visit the Wada manufacturing facility as required for procurement coordination, vendor/material discussions and issue resolution.
- Work closely with Stores and Production teams to avoid material shortages and production delays.
Candidate Profile
- Graduate/Diploma in Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, Materials Management or a related field.
- 5–10 years of relevant procurement/purchase experience in a manufacturing or engineering industry.
- Strong experience in vendor development, negotiation, sourcing and material procurement.
- Good understanding of engineering/manufacturing materials and components.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems and MS Excel.
- Strong commercial and analytical skills.
- Good communication and vendor management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple requirements and work under tight production timelines.
- Willingness to travel between Borivali and Wada as required.
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
