We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis Chef to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation, maintain kitchen hygiene standards, and support senior chefs in delivering high-quality dishes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of food as directed by senior chefs.
- Prepare ingredients, including washing, cutting, peeling, and portioning.
- Ensure food is prepared according to recipes and quality standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen at all times.
- Follow food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Store food items properly and monitor stock levels.
- Assist in receiving and checking deliveries.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is used safely and maintained properly.
- Support the kitchen team during busy service periods.
- Comply with hotel and departmental policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Commis Chef or Kitchen Assistant is preferred.
- Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
- Good understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Team player with good communication skills.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
