We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Commi Chef for the Continental Department to support kitchen operations in preparation and execution of continental cuisine. The candidate should have basic knowledge of continental cooking techniques, food presentation, and kitchen hygiene standards while maintaining consistency and quality during service.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparation and cooking of continental dishes as per standard recipes.
- Prepare mise en place before service hours.
- Handle basic continental kitchen operations including sauces, grills, sandwiches, pastas, salads, breakfast items, and plating.
- Ensure freshness, quality, and proper storage of ingredients.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen stations, refrigerators, and equipment.
- Follow food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
- Coordinate with senior chefs and team members during operations.
- Minimize wastage and ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO).
- Support in receiving and organizing kitchen inventory.
- Maintain consistency in taste, portioning, and presentation standards.
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of continental cuisine and kitchen operations.
- Diploma/Certification in Hotel Management or Culinary Arts preferred.
- 0–2 years of experience in continental kitchen operations preferred.
- Ability to work in rotational shifts and under pressure.
- Understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
