Carpenter Job Description
A Carpenter constructs, installs, repairs, and maintains structures and fixtures made from wood, plywood, wallboard, and other materials. They work on residential, commercial, and industrial construction projects, following blueprints and building codes to ensure safe and accurate workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood and other construction materials.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Install structures such as walls, floors, doors, windows, cabinets, and roofing systems.
- Repair and renovate existing structures and fixtures.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery safely.
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality and compliance with building regulations.
- Collaborate with contractors, architects, and other construction professionals.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, and tools.
- Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong mathematical and measurement skills.
- Physical strength, stamina, and manual dexterity.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Understanding of workplace safety practices.
- High school diploma or equivalent; apprenticeship or vocational training preferred.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Frequent standing, bending, lifting, climbing, and use of tools and equipment.
- May require overtime, weekends, or travel to different job sites.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
