Job Title: Accountant
Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our growing finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing monthly reconciliations, assisting with financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles.
The ideal candidate possesses strong numerical aptitude, a deep understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and the ability to work collaboratively across departments to support our company’s financial health.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Recordkeeping: Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and categorized.
- Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Month-End Close: Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing and posting journal entries and accruals.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Oversee or assist with invoicing, tracking receivables, aging reports, and processing vendor payments.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements such as Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow.
- Compliance & Tax: Support the preparation of local, state, and federal tax filings, as well as internal or external financial audits.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and improve internal financial controls.
Skills & QualificationsRequired:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: 2–4 years of professional accounting experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel such as vlookups, pivot tables, formulas and experience with accounting software e.g. QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, or Xero.
- Knowledge: Solid understanding of GAAP and basic corporate tax regulations.
- Attributes: High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle confidential financial data with integrity.
Preferred (Nice-to-Have):
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license or actively tracking toward eligibility.
- Experience in Real Estate.
