We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to take full ownership of execution at our project site. The role combines hands-on site leadership with technical coordination: driving contractors to programme, holding quality and safety standards, and working closely with the architect’s office to ensure drawings are executed correctly and site-level conflicts are identified and resolved early. This is a field-based leadership position, not a desk role — the successful candidate will spend the majority of the working day on site.
Key Responsibilities
Site Execution and Supervision
- Take overall responsibility for day-to-day construction activity across the site
- Plan and sequence works to meet project milestones; monitor daily and weekly progress against programme
- Supervise contractors, and subcontractors, and hold them accountable to targets
- Verify that all work in progress conforms to approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards
Drawing Execution and Consultant Coordination
- Study architectural, structural, and MEP drawings in detail before execution and confirm inter-disciplinary coordination
- Identify discrepancies, clashes, and constructability issues in drawings, and raise them formally with the architect’s office and consultants with proposed solutions
- Track RFIs and drawing revisions; ensure only current approved revisions are issued to site
- Use AutoCAD to review, mark up, and communicate site conditions, as-built deviations, and proposed modifications
Commercial and Administrative
- Plan material requirements and coordinate procurement to prevent site stoppages
- Check and certify contractor measurements, running bills, and variation claims
- Maintain daily progress reports, site records, and documentation for management review
- Escalate delays, cost risks, and site constraints to management with clear recommendations
Quality and Safety
- Enforce site safety protocols and statutory compliance
- Conduct inspections at key stages and maintain quality checklists and records
- Maintain site discipline, housekeeping, and labour coordination
Requirements
- [B.E. / B.Tech] in Civil Engineering; [M.Tech in Construction Management is an advantage]
- Prior experience in [residential / commercial / high-rise] projects
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential — candidates will be assessed on drawing interpretation and markup
- Working knowledge of [MS Project / Primavera] and MS Excel for planning and reporting
- Sound understanding of construction methods, materials, sequencing, and quality standards
- Proven ability to coordinate with architects and consultants and communicate technical issues clearly
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and contractor-management skills
