Position Title: Senior Accountant

Location: Carpet Manufacturing Unit, Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh
Job Purpose
To manage and oversee the organization's accounting operations, ensure accurate financial record-keeping, statutory compliance, financial reporting, cost monitoring, and support management in financial planning and decision-making within the carpet manufacturing and export business.
Key Responsibilities1. Financial Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Maintain accurate books of accounts in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
- Record and reconcile all financial transactions including sales, purchases, receipts, payments, journal entries, and adjustments.
- Ensure timely closure of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts.
- Maintain General Ledger and subsidiary ledgers.
2. Accounts Payable & Receivable Management
- Monitor customer receivables and follow up for timely collections.
- Verify and process supplier invoices and vendor payments.
- Reconcile customer and vendor accounts on a regular basis.
- Monitor outstanding balances and prepare aging reports.
3. Manufacturing & Cost Accounting
- Monitor and analyze production costs associated with carpet manufacturing.
- Track consumption of raw materials such as wool, cotton, viscose, silk, latex, dyes, chemicals, and packaging materials.
- Assist in product costing, job costing, and profitability analysis.
- Analyze production variances and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain records related to inventory valuation and work-in-progress (WIP).
4. Inventory & Stock Accounting
- Reconcile physical inventory with accounting records.
- Monitor inventory movements across stores, production, and finished goods warehouses.
- Ensure proper accounting of raw materials, semi-finished goods, finished carpets, and export consignments.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
5. Taxation & Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Prepare and review:
- GST returns
- TDS calculations and returns
- Professional Tax and Labour Welfare compliances
- Coordinate with auditors, consultants, and government authorities.
- Maintain statutory records and documentation.
6. Banking & Treasury Management
- Manage banking transactions, fund transfers, and payment processing.
- Perform bank reconciliations regularly.
- Monitor cash flow requirements and working capital utilization.
- Assist in preparation of cash flow projections and fund management reports.
7. Financial Reporting & MIS
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Generate management reports and MIS for business review.
- Provide analysis on:
- Revenue and profitability
- Cost trends
- Budget versus actual performance
- Department-wise expenses
- Support management with financial insights for strategic decision-making.
8. Export & Trade Accounting
- Maintain accounting records related to export sales and shipments.
- Verify export documentation and realization records.
- Coordinate with banks regarding export proceeds and foreign remittances.
- Monitor export incentives, duty drawback claims, and other government benefits where applicable.
9. Audit Coordination
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors.
- Prepare schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documents for audits.
- Ensure timely closure of audit observations and compliance requirements.
10. Team Coordination & Internal Controls
- Supervise accounting staff and ensure accuracy of accounting processes.
- Implement and maintain internal financial controls.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and approval procedures.
- Support automation and process improvement initiatives.

Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (B.Com)
- Chartered Accountant (CA), CMA, MBA (Finance), or equivalent qualification preferred.
- Additional certifications in taxation, ERP systems, or finance will be advantageous.
Experience
- 5–8 years of accounting and finance experience, preferably in carpet manufacturing, textiles, handicrafts, exports, or related industries.
- Experience in manufacturing accounting, inventory management, and export accounting preferred.
