Job Title: Head - Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I)
Reporting To: Plant Head
Experience & Skills:
- 2-5 years of experience in mineral processing / mining plants, with at least 5 years in a senior E&I leadership role.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety standards, automation, and maintenance best practices
Key Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for HV/LV power distribution, substations, transformers, MCCs, and plant electrical networks.
- Ensure reliable power supply to critical plant equipment including crushers, mills, thickeners, agitators, pumps, and refinery systems.
- Monitor electrical load management, power factor correction, and energy efficiency.
- Manage and optimize PLC / SCADA / DCS systems for plant operations.
- Support process automation, interlocks, alarms, and safety systems
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations, statutory codes, and site standards.
- Enforce safe working practices including lockout-tagout (LOTO), earthing, and hazardous area classification.
- Support safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
- Lead and mentor E&I engineers, supervisors, technicians, and contractors.
- Develop SOPs, maintenance manuals, and training programs.
- Ensure skill development, succession planning, and competency assessments.
- Prepare E&I performance reports covering availability, failures, energy usage, and improvement actions.
- Control E&I maintenance budgets and contractor costs.
- Identify cost-saving and energy optimization opportunities.
