Position Overview
Lovely Sweets is currently seeking a highly organized, dependable, and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our growing team remotely from India. The selected candidate will be responsible for handling complete bookkeeping and finance-related functions for all company divisions and restaurant locations.
This role requires strong accounting knowledge, excellent analytical abilities, and the capability to manage financial records across multiple business operations in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working independently, maintaining confidentiality, meeting deadlines, and coordinating with management remotely during Mountain Standard Time (MST) working hours.
Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping & Financial Management
- Maintain complete and accurate financial records for all business entities and locations.
- Record daily financial transactions including sales, purchases, expenses, payroll entries, and journal entries.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments.
- Monitor incoming payments and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and vendor accounts regularly.
- Maintain and update the general ledger accurately.
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Generate Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow reports.
- Assist management with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Track operational costs and identify discrepancies or unusual transactions.
- Provide financial summaries and reports for each restaurant location and the dairy products factory.
Payroll & Expense Tracking
- Assist with payroll preparation and payroll-related bookkeeping entries.
- Maintain records of employee reimbursements and operational expenses.
- Track daily cash flow and expenses across multiple locations.
- Ensure all supporting documentation and receipts are properly maintained.
Tax & Compliance Support
- Assist in maintaining records for GST/HST filings and tax preparation.
- Organize financial documentation for audits and external accountants.
- Ensure bookkeeping practices comply with company policies and accounting standards.
Administrative & Coordination Duties
- Coordinate with restaurant managers and management regarding financial matters.
- Maintain organized digital records and financial files.
- Assist management with financial data requests and operational reporting.
- Support process improvements and implementation of efficient bookkeeping systems.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 2–4 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Experience handling bookkeeping for multiple business locations is preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks is mandatory.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet management skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently in a remote work environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information.
Required Qualifications
- A professional qualification should be highly preferred, including:
i) Chartered Accountancy (CA) India
ii) Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
iii) Cost and Management Accounting (CMA) India
- Experience in the restaurant, hospitality, food manufacturing, or retail industry.
- Knowledge of Canadian bookkeeping and payroll practices.
- Familiarity with inventory tracking and cost management is considered an asset.
Work Expectations
- Full-time remote position based in India.
- Must be available to work during Calgary business hours (9:00 AM – 6:00 PM MST).
- Stable internet connection and a professional remote work setup are required.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines consistently.
