United Media Computers (UMC), a printing and packaging company based in Chandigarh, is hiring a detail-oriented Accountant to manage day-to-day financial operations and ensure accurate, compliant bookkeeping. The ideal candidate will handle accounting entries, statutory compliance, and financial reporting with precision.
Responsibilities
- Maintain day-to-day accounting records — purchases, sales, receipts, and payments
- Prepare and manage invoices, bills, and payment vouchers
- Handle bank reconciliation and cash flow tracking
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Ensure timely statutory compliance — GST, TDS, PF, ESI filings
- Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of books
- Prepare financial statements and MIS reports for management
- Coordinate with auditors during internal/external audits
- Maintain proper documentation and filing of financial records
- Liaise with vendors, clients, and banks for financial matters
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in accounting/finance, preferably in manufacturing/printing industry
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance (B.Com/M.Com preferred)
- Proficiency in Tally ERP / Tally Prime and MS Excel
- Working knowledge of GST, TDS, and other statutory compliance
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping
- Good numerical accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
