Job Overview
Hey Concrete is looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Designer to lead complex design projects and mentor junior team members. You will be the primary technical design authority on high-impact projects, working closely with architects, sales, and project management teams to deliver exceptional showroom layouts, bespoke installations, and site-specific design solutions. Your expertise in AutoCAD, space planning, and client collaboration will be pivotal in setting design standards and driving project excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and own 2D and 3D design delivery using AutoCAD for complex showroom layouts, bespoke site designs, and custom installations.
- Drive design strategy by collaborating directly with architects, sales teams, and senior stakeholders to understand and shape project requirements.
- Translate high-level conceptual briefs into detailed, production-ready technical drawings with minimal supervision.
- Review and validate drawings prepared by Designer Executives, providing structured feedback and quality assurance.
- Conduct site visits independently to gather measurements, assess on-site conditions, and prepare precise as-built drawings.
- Lead space planning exercises and prepare compelling visual presentations for client approval and internal reviews.
- Establish and enforce design documentation standards, file naming conventions, and version control protocols.
- Act as the design liaison with production, procurement, and installation teams to ensure seamless execution.
- Identify design challenges proactively and propose creative, practical solutions.
- Mentor and guide junior designers (Designer Executives), supporting their technical and professional growth.
- Contribute to the development of design templates, standard libraries, and reusable drawing assets.
- Manage multiple concurrent design projects and deadlines with a high degree of ownership.
Qualifications & Skills
- 3–6 years of hands-on experience in a design role with demonstrated expertise in AutoCAD (2D and 3D).
- Degree / Diploma in Architecture (B.Arch), B.Tech, Interior Design, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in retail showroom layout planning, site design, and client-facing design presentations.
- Strong visualisation, space planning, and design interpretation skills.
- Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and producing architectural and civil drawings.
- In-depth knowledge of materials, surface finishes, measurements, and construction practices.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead design quality review and mentor junior team members.
- Strong project management skills — ability to own and deliver multiple projects simultaneously.
Nice to Have
- Proficiency in SketchUp, Revit, Lumion, or equivalent 3D / rendering tools.
- Prior experience working with premium architectural surface materials (stone, concrete, tiles).
- Exposure to international design standards or luxury retail design projects.
- Experience in client presentation and pitching design concepts.
