To provide strategic leadership to the Design and Engineering division, ensuring the delivery of robust, innovative, and cost-effective engineering solutions. The GM (D&E) will oversee the lifecycle of projects from concept design to final manufacturing drawings, ensuring compliance with global engineering standards and client specifications for bulk material handling systems and SPMs.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop, establish and lead a team of multi-disciplinary engineers (Mechanical, Hydraulic, Structural, and Electrical/Automation).
- Drive the transition from 2D drafting to 3D parametric modeling and simulation-driven design.
- Establish design standards and standardization of parts to reduce engineering lead time.
Technical Operations:
- Oversee the design of Belt Conveyors, Stackers, Reclaimers, Crushers, Screens, and complex SPMs.
- Validate design calculations (Load, Power, Stress Analysis/FEA) to ensure structural integrity and operational reliability.
- Approve General Arrangement (GA) drawings and detailed manufacturing drawings before release to production.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as CEMA, IS, DIN, ASME, and ISO.
Project & Interface Management:
- Collaborate with the Sales team during the pre-bid stage for technical conceptualization and cost estimation.
- Resolve technical queries raised by the Production and Quality departments during fabrication and assembly.
- Manage Value Engineering (VE) initiatives to optimize material weight and manufacturing costs without compromising quality.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: B.E./M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering.
- Experience: 15–20 years in heavy engineering, with at least 5-7 years in a leadership role.
- Domain Knowledge: Expertise in Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and custom machine design is mandatory.
- Software Proficiency: SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ANSYS/Nastran (for FEA), and PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) software.
Key Competencies
- Strong grasp of Kinematics and Dynamics of Machinery.
- Change Management (transitioning teams to new technologies).
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation in design.

Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
